Creating Behavioral Change

Our learning process immerses participants in a series of vital leadership components that make you, your people and your organisation 'tick'.

As we move through the Programme, you will be asked to apply strategies, presented in the sessions, back in the workplace, and report on the results achieved. This process of instruction - assignment - coaching - accountability underpins the Programme's objective of creating behavioural change. You will work as a part of a table team during the Forums, and take part in facilitated discussions, role plays and practise sessions. Additionally*, you may engage the services of an 8ack Executive Coach. In taking this option, a single coach** will be: (i) the provider of your

assessment feedback sessions, (ii) agree with your areas for development, (iii) provide support, help and guidance - at pre-agreed points in between the Forums on a 1-2-1 basis - in meeting these objectives. (*Additional fees apply **Subject to Availability)

Research (Joyce and Showers 1983) shows that learners will transfer a new skill into their practise as a result of learning:

  • theory=5%
  • theory, seeing a demonstration=10%
  • theory, seeing a demonstration, practise=20%
  • theory, seeing a demonstration, practise, corrective feedback=25%
  • theory, seeing a demonstration, practise, corrective feedback, coaching=90%

Our approach delivers theory, demonstrations, practise, corrective feedback and the coaching support that participants need to develop the leadership skills that ultimately deliver organisational success and bottom line results. Each skill that participants master will impact directly on job performance.

Our experience shows that the best approach to achieve sustained soft skill development is to space formal sessions over a period of time. This spaced-learning approach has a number of major benefits, including:

  • incrementally reducing resistance to change
  • increasing efficiency by decreasing inefficiency
  • confirming the principle that 'practise makes perfect' and providing the evidence that 'practise makes permanent'.
